60 Employees of Zari Taraqiati Bank Limited Reinstated

Out of 68, 60 employees of Zari Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL), who were sacked during 1996-98, have been reinstated, the bank Vice President (VP) informed the Sub-Committee of Federal Cabinet on Re-instatement of Sacked Employees of ZTBL on Wednesday.
ZTBL VP told the meeting that the rest eight employees had not contacted the committee so far. He said the re-instated employees were being promoted and salaries were being paid to them as per instructions of the sub-committee of federal cabinet.

National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has announced to provide employment opportunities to children of its previous and current staffers, tells a media report.
Jobs will be provided in clerical and non-clerical cadres to sons and daughters of employees who have retired, have availed golden handshake (GHS), voluntary handshake (VHS) or voluntary separation scheme (VSS), or are currently in regular service of the bank.

The Nation has reported that HSBC Pakistan will be cutting down on its staff in Pakistan by 40-45 across various levels. The layoffs have been reported to be caused by a decrease in the bank’s earning and profitability. Earlier many other banks in Pakistan including HBL, MCB, UBL, Citibank and DIBPL have also reduced their human strength.

Record Promotions by ‘Non-Banking’ President of ZTBL

This year a record high number of Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited’s 1358 employees have been promoted to next grades.
According to Zaka Ashraf, President Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) these promotions are aimed at redressing grievances of employees of the bank who had been deprived of promotions for over two decades. Zaka Ashraf advised them to work hard and turn ZTBL into one of the best banks of the world.
These promotions have been from the grade of OG-II to OG-I and OG-I to Assistant Vice President (AVP) levels. Promotions of AVP employees to Vice President (VP) level are yet to be announced.
